ABOUT ME
I've been a wine & beer geek
since college, and even worked for
several years, part-time, at a
local wine/beer shop (named one of
the top 70 beer retailers in the
country by All About Beer)---which
is really where I honed my beer
knowledge. A couple years ago, I
was introduced by a
friend/coworker to homebrewing;
the process fascinated me, but it
was that magical first sip of my
first carbonated bottle that sold
me for life.
Then I found HBT. The rest is
history. In 2 years, I managed to
brew 76 batches, and even though I
have more than I can drink, I
really just can't stop.
I'm also an architect, and am
part-owner of a wine cooperative,
The Wine Guild of Charlottesville
(technically an LLC), and love
collecting and writing about wine.

Geeky as it may sound, I want to
experience the entirety of the beer world,
and there are very few styles I don't like
and couldn't see myself drinking at least
5 gallons of...so I'm striving to brew
every style, in time.

| Schlenkerla 08/16/2008 You're all wanking sissies if you
even think about using a grain
mill, teeth, or ball-peen hammer.
A real brewer uses 17 vestal
virgins stomping on the grain in a
large wooden vat. And yeast is for
losers. True brewers just dip one
end of their dog into the wort to
get things going.

drink beer, when I'm alone and
when I'm with someone else. |
